Impact Statement | SUPPLY Victoria diverts materials from the landfill to put into the hands of artists, students, and teachers in order to craft a more sustainable, equitable & creative Victoria. SUPPLY redistributes used art, office, and school supplies through their Centre (open 4 days a week) and offers creative reuse education to youth & adults. |
Description | Fabric Stars is the role for you if you are: a) interested in learning more about fabrics and fiber arts or b) already know your way around a fabric store. In this role, you will work to keep the notions and fabric stocked up, priced, and looking good in store. To determine which fabrics are natural fibers (like cotton, silk and wool) and how they differ in feel from other synthetic fabrics use this video showing how to use a burn test to determine what kind of fabric you have. |
Training Details | All volunteers are required to: – Watch a mandatory 20-minute Volunteer Orientation video – Review the Volunteer Manual, especially the role descriptions – Fill out a 2-minute Post Volunteer Orientation Quiz to test your orientation knowledge – Sign up for a shift using the Volunteer Schedule – You will receive a tour of the space during your first shift |
