Child Care Worker: The James Bay Community Project needs someone to help take care of children while their parents learn to cook. Shifts would be for 3 and a half hours a week for 6 weeks between April and June. If you would be interested, then contact Catriona at 250–388–7844 or e-mail ccampbell@jbcp.bc.ca
Newspaper Reader: If you’d like an opportunity to volunteer with your family then check out another opportunity with the James Bay Community Project. They are looking for people willing to read the newspaper and lead discussion groups with those who have lost their sight. The time commitment is one hour once a week. Musical Entertainment: Come play music for residents at the Alexander Mackie Lodge! They are looking for anyone with some musical abilities to put on a show for one hour every month. Daffodil Days: Come be a part of Daffodil Days to support the Canadian Cancer Society. A number of jobs and positions are available including distribution and delivery and being a part of the street team. Help get the message out and raise awareness of cancer through a few hours work every week. Power to Play Day: Set-up and take-down is needed for the upcoming Power to Play Day taking place May 2nd. Volunteers will be needed April 24th and May 8th-9th. If that’s not your cup of tea, jobs such as traffic supervisors, greeters, and station facilitators will be needed the day of the event. The day is organized by Power to Be.
