As I have said, my board is in a bit of turmoil this year, having abruptly lost it’s EX DIR late fall. And because I am not a board member, I am just making observations from a distance. I think the board is run under the MANAGEMENT MODEL, through committees who may or may not have a coordinator. I take coordinator to be the Ex Dir, and while I did participate in committee meetings where she oversaw operations, only a temporary, short-term ED has been hired.
The model that appeals to me the most as an individual is the ADVISORY BOARD model, which governs only in a limited sense, to provide advice.

Thanks Vicki, it is sometimes hard to see the Governance model, even when you are sitting on a board. As your Organization is in a state of change you may well be moving between a management and a working board model. Hopefully your board has had good conversations about how they have changed and how they will make space for their Governance, management, and hands on work. It is a big change.

      Cheers Lisa
