Hello folks, a mentor of mine once told me that if someone wants to become an excellent manager they should only work with paper and objects, not people. It seemed a cynical piece of advise at the time from a mentor who was extraordinarily personable and successful. Yet, there is a grain of truth in the statement. People change the parameters of everything they touch.

Governance is no different. We have to manage the people involved in the governance process as well as taking care of the governance of the organization. This Unit explores the conditions that have to exist for the board to self manage it people, its projects, and its processes.
