ArtisTREE is a celebration of creativity at Government House of BC. This is a unique Festival to Victoria BC offering a multi faceted experience of our handmade, arts and music community set in a heritage and woodland urban oasis.
This two day Event launches July 27 & 28, 2024 and will bring together Art in a plethora of expressions. We will host 125+ Canadian handmade Makers, Artists, acclaimed Musicians, Indigenous Makers and traditions, a kids craft section, interactive artistic displays and performance art. ArtisTREE Festival creates experiences of art, artistic lifestyles and nature that connect and inspire… Artisans, Art, Music and MAGIC!
1. Friday July 26th & Sunday July 28th – Vendor Load In/Out Assistance – Vendors will have a timed schedule to load-in their booth and contents.Help is needed to move items from vehicles to vendor spaces. Carts will be available and many vendors will have their own, but some manual lifting/carrying of items can be expected.
• 3 hr shifts Friday (930am, 1230pm & 330pm) & 3.5 hr shift Sunday (5pm). 6 people/shift Friday & 6-8 Sunday. *Last shift on Friday may be shorter, depending on the volume/efficiency of earlier shifts.
2. Saturday July 27th & Sunday July 28th – Environment – Making sure the beautiful gardens/event space is kept clean and clear. Collecting any on-ground objects and rotating out full garbage/recyclable/compost bags with empty ones. Monitoring supplies for restocking (bags, toilet paper and paper towels etc.) 2 people/shift Saturday & Sunday.
• 3 hr shifts Saturday (10am, 1pm & 4pm) & 3.5 hr shifts Sunday (10am & 130pm). *Last shifts may be needed to stay a bit longer for final site sweep/tidy if available.
3. Saturday July 27th & Sunday July 28th – Kids Craft Section – Assisting the Kids Craft Group and providing assistance to children, tidying area throughout shift.
• 3 hr Shifts Saturday (10am, 1pm & 4pm) & 3.5 hr shifts Sunday (10am & 130pm). 1-2 people/shift. *Last shifts may end earlier depending on the volume of people coming to the tent.
One shift per person would be great to fill, but if anyone is available or would like to do more than one shift or help in a different area they can definitely sign up for more. We will provide breaks as needed and snacks etc. for our amazing volunteers.
Join us for one of Victoria’s most beloved festivals drawing over 40,000 visitors! One of the largest art festivals of its kind in Canada, this event features artists, activities, music, food, and fun. For one day only, Artists line up along Moss Street to demonstrate their craft and share their work with the community!
This year, the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is looking for 200+ wonderful volunteers to help them host the festival. There are a variety of roles and shifts available throughout the day to accommodate everyone. Help support the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Vancouver Island art and artists, and celebrate art with the community by volunteering for the festival!
Time Commitment: Minimal commitment of 4-hours on the day of the festival and one 1.5-hour training/orientation session in early July.
Provisions: Snacks will be provided for your hard work and a free t-shirt!

WestCoast Rhythmic Gymnastics is hosting the 2024 BC Rhythmic Gymnastics Provincials!
Our Club has a non profit organization that has been offering rhythmic gymnastics for the last 30 years in Victoria. Over 200 athletes aged approx 5 to 18 years old will perform and compete over 2 and half days, Friday June 14 from 2pm until Sunday June 16th 630pm. Athletes come from all over BC.
We are looking for 6 or 7 volunteers, for Sunday mid day, June 16th from 12:15pm until 4:30pm. Duties include : Welcome and information table, Line Judging (no previous experience required), Floor Marshalling, and Judges Hospitality. Welcome table: Collect entry fees and answer questions Line judge: Reporting if a gymnast goes out of bounds through tablet (sitting on the side of the carpet) Judge hospitality: Delivering meals to judges hospitality area, ensuring there is stock of all refreshments Floor Marshal: marshalling gymnasts and coaches from warm up gym to the competition gym, keeping the schedule on time. This role is best suited for someone who is very familiar with a Rhythmic Gymnastics competition.
A light snack to be provided after the shift to volunteers.
Other individual shifts through out the weekend are also available.
Help out at a lovely community event! Volunteers are needed to help run some simple games and help with bouncy castles. The games are straightforward so you can show up 30 minutes beforehand to go over the tasks. You’ll be rotating around the stations. Lots of guidance will be provided so that you feel welcome, appreciated, and connected. Free food as well!
The Mustard Seed will be taking part in the Victoria Day Parade. Volunteers will be gathering at Mayfair Mall at 8:30 am to prepare for the parade, which starts at 9 am. The aim is to raise awareness about food security by marching alongside the van with cheerleader pompoms and making some noise! The Parade starts at Mayfair Mall and will end at Centennial Square with some bands on stage and food trucks.

Eat great food, have fun, and connect with other youth in safe and funky downtown tech space
Participate in interactive discussion about what loss and grief is, the impacts on young people and coping strategies.
Learn how you can be a supportive and empathetic friend to someone experiencing loss
Discover how talking openly about grief, amplifying your voice and youth-advocacy can help process grief and contribute to healing.
Youth who produce and share a video at the event will also receive a letter confirming volunteer time.

Join us for our Beach Cleanup, being held by the Surfrider Foundation South Vancouver Island! We will be doing a shoreline cleanup along the Gonzales Beach path. All the debris is sorted, recycled and disposed of properly by our fabulous partners at Atlas Junk Removal.

What you need to know:
We have a limited amount of reusable gloves, buckets, and bags for volunteers to use on a first come, first served basis. We always encourage you to bring your own if you have!
We clean rain or shine, so please dress for the weather!
With the help of our fabulous partners, we usually have coffee/hot chocolate and snacks provided. Please bring your own mug if you’d like to enjoy!
