Greater Victoria Green Team Earth Day Cleanup at Clover Point – Register here

Sunday, April 23rd 10 am – 1 pm | Clover Point, Victoria

Get out and volunteer with the Greater Victoria Green Team, a fun way to continue Earth Day celebrations and to kick-off National Volunteer Week. Join the Meet-up to remove garbage from the beach – there will be treats and refreshments afterwards. The following supplies will be provided: gardening gloves, tools/garbage pickers. *If you’re under 19, you must bring a waiver form signed by a parent or guardian in order to participate – Download the form here*

The Saanich Fair Volunteer Fair – Register here

Sunday, April 23rd @ 12 pm – 4 pm | Saanich Fair Grounds, 1528 Stelly’s Cross Road, Saanichton

Explore the Saanich Fair Grounds and the many ways you can join the volunteer team of the historical, 149 year old, Saanich Fair…the biggest community event of the year on Saanich Peninsula. Join the fun North & South Agricultural Society (Saanich Fair) volunteer team that presents the largest annual Fall Fair on Vancouver Island. Volunteers are needed all year long in many different capacities and areas. We look forward to renewing old acquaintances and making new friends who will join in the fun of preparing for the Fair.

Come down to Smiths Bar and Restaurant and join a group of music enthusiasts and music lovers who help to raise awareness of the healing powers of music. This event is for those who are interested in learning more to those who have been a long-term volunteer. Join the Canadian Red Cross for a presentation about how you can volunteer to support Red Cross programs in your community. We will provide you with a description of our Health Equipment Loan and Disaster Management programs and the volunteer roles that are essential to delivering these services. Volunteers will learn how to use the My Open Road App as a tool to engage and to teach others how to reduce their carbon footprint by taking sustainable/active transportation (walking, biking, carpooling, taking the bus, train, and hybrid and electric cars). Volunteers will also learn how to conduct green challenge to bring the community together to be more sustainable and to see that their small effort has a major impact on the quality of life and the planet.

An informative look into the inner workings of the Hope Farm Healing Centre. A guided tour around the farm, facilities, and overall mindset of the operations. The tour will include a brief history of the farm, and a time to ask any questions you might have, as potential volunteers or supporters of the valuable work being done there.

Soap Squeeze Volunteer Night and Appreciation Concert – Register here

The Soap for Hope Program of Disaster Aid Canada will be hosting their monthly Soap Squeeze Volunteer Night at the Disaster Aid Canada warehouse! The Soap Squeeze take place from 5 pm – 7 pm and be followed by an all ages live concert from 7:30 – 9:30 pm as a thank you to our volunteers. During the soap-processing portion of the evening, volunteers will sort, refill, and package hygiene kits to give to Victoria’s at risk populations. Please bring your old shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion bottles (squeeze top only please) as we can clean and re-use these containers to give to those in need!

Community Options is hosting an open house for people interested in volunteering to host events for families who have children with developmental disabilities. We are looking for volunteers who love families, kids and food to host bi-monthly dinner events at our office in Victoria. Saturday, April 29th @ 8:45 am – 12 pm | Cedar Hill Park, 3220 Cedar Hill Road, Victoria (meet at the end of the parking lot to the left of the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre)

Join the Greater Victoria Green Team and Pulling Together Volunteers for an invasive plant removal work party. We will be removing Himalayan Blackberry so please wear a long sleeved shirt and pants. This event is on rain or shine, although hopefully, it will be shine!
